With a Masters in Telecommunications, Pedro Cardoso worked for INESC Porto for over 15 years. His first project was project SIFO (Optical Fibre Integrated Systems) and it was part of his final year of his degree at the Faculty of Engineering.

He was known for being a decisive person and divides his time at INESC Porto into three separate phases: 1988-1999 the learning phase (Masters), 1993-1997 the transition phase and 1998-2002 the affirmation phase.

He highlights projects at INESC Porto, such as SIFO in 1988, ATLANTIC 1996-1998 and the creation of the digital television area (MOG) that began in 1999 and all of the associated contracts and European projects: ORBIT, G-FORS, MetaVision, P/PITV, CONTESSA, Nuggets and ASSET.

When leaving INESC Porto, Pedro Cardoso stated that he would miss project MOG (Media Objects Group) the most and everyone who worked on the project.
