StudECE 2013 - 2nd PhD Students Conference in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Call for papers and demos

Submissions of two (2) page papers describing technological advances, results, and work-in-progress research in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied Electrical and Computer Engineering are invited for the 2nd PhD Students Conference in Electrical and Computer Engineering (StudECE).

StudECE is a multidisciplinary forum devoted to provide PhD students involved in research activities with an excellent opportunity to discuss their evolving ideas and gather feedback from the academic community.

Graduate students and researchers are also welcome to participate.

Submitted work can be non-original, as long as reference to the original work is included.

The conference proceedings will be available in electronic format. One author of every accepted paper must register to attend and present the work during the conference.


SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Extended Abstracts:

- Authors should submit an extended abstract in English which must not exceed two (2) pages including references and figures - extended abstracts exceeding two pages will not be reviewed.
- Only electronic submission through the conference paper submission web page will be accepted (please use PDF format only).
- If your paper is accepted you will be asked to submit the source of the camera-ready version of your paper for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
- Acceptable formats for the source version are LaTeX and Microsoft Word (LaTeX is preferred) using IEEE style/template files, refer to the author's instructions on the IEEE web site for more information on paper format and to download the style/template files.
- Submissions will be reviewed and, based on the combined marks of paper reviewing, they will be assigned either an oral or a poster presentation.

Demos:
- Authors should submit a demo proposal in English which must not exceed two (2) pages including references and figures - demo proposals exceeding two pages will not be reviewed.
- Only electronic submission through the conference paper submission web page will be accepted (please use PDF format only).

André Vidal, researcher at the Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM), and José Melo, researcher at the Robotics and Intelligent Systems Unit (ROBIS), are also part of the Organizing Committee.
