Limelight

Luís Seca (USE), Pedro Almeida (LIAAD) and Germano Veiga (ROBIS) are the latest nominees in BIP’s Limelight section (English version).

Luís Seca

FEBRUARY - Luís Seca (USE)

The Manager of the Power Systems Unit (USE) stated - "Other than performing his tasks as adviser to the Power Systems Unit (USE) manager, always characterised by high quality and dedication and while continuing his PhD studies, over the last months Luís Seca has concluded  the preparation of several European projects, not only in organisational but  also in scientific aspects. Luís was also actively involved in assembling the new Laboratory of Microgrids and Electric Vehicles and in organising important demonstrations as part of project REIVE. These activities resulted in several extra work hours, oftentimes with personal sacrifice. The results were excellent, both internally and externally."

Pedro Almeida

MARCH - Pedro Almeida (LIAAD)

The Manager of the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) stated - "Pedro Almeida is known for his team work, high responsibility, politeness and practical results. Pedro has been supporting the current and the former Unit Manager and because I can trust Pedro to handle important matters, I am available to focus on other things, something which would be difficult otherwise. With a high level of autonomy, Pedro is above all a facilitator.

When LIAAD moved to the building of INESC Porto, Pedro was responsible for managing all logistics aspects, with all the little and great concerns that come with it, and with great personal sacrifice. He is always available, inside or outside working hours, even when he has to deal with urgent matters, and he always believes that the following month will be calmer."

Germano Veiga

APRIL - Germano Veiga (ROBIS)

The Managers of the Robotics and Intelligent Systems Unit (ROBIS) stated - "The managers of ROBIS have agreed to nominate Germano Veiga for the Limelight section for his fast integration in the Unit, in the team and in ongoing projects. Above all else, we congratulate him for his excellent work on the elaboration of project proposals.

That effort culminated with the approval of the European project CARLoS - CooperAtive Robot for Large Spaces manufacturing (Type of funding scheme: Research for SMEs) whose proposal was led by Germano Veiga."
