INESC TEC organises international conference in the field of Music
The ISMIR conference is held annually and is emerging as a global forum on research on processing, search, organisation and access to music related data to music. The ISMIR 2012 reflects the rapid development in the distribution and storage of music triggered by digital technology, providing a discussion forum on the latest developments in this area at the levels of methodology, tools and experimental results.
In addition to tutorials and presentations of research papers, the ISMIR 2012 will have a musical concert program in which music collection techniques are used in order to create and explore new types of music that can suggest new ideas for research in this area.
The main objective of this conference is to promote the sharing of multidisciplinary knowledge by bringing together researchers, students and professionals.
This event is organised by INESC TEC, in partnership with the Teatro Nacional de São joão (TNSJ), led by Fabien Gouyon and Carlos Guedes, researchers at UTM. The ISMIR 2012 is also supported by the European Commission, by the Reitoria of the University of Porto, by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), the Portuguese Catholic University, and companies Gracenote, Google, Spectral Mind, Ableton and Cycling'74.
