INESC TEC brings international conference to Porto

INESC TEC’s Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) is organising the 3rd edition of the International Conference on Dynamics, Games and Science (DGS III 2014), which will take place at the University of Porto between 17 and 21 February 2014.

After the successful first and second editions of this conference (respectively in 2008 and in 2013), the goal is to bring together researchers and top professionals in the areas of Dynamic Systems, Game Theory and its applications in fields such as Biology, Economics and Social Sciences. This event is therefore an opportunity for master's and PhD students to get to know leading experts in their fields of expertise and to present their work.

The conference will feature approximately three dozen prestigious speakers from different countries, with presentations in parallel sessions, including INESC TEC researchers Alberto Pinto (responsible for organising the event), João Gama, Bruno Oliveira and João Paulo Almeida.

It is important to highlight that Alberto Pinto was also in charge of organising the DGS II 2013 – International Conference and Advanced School Planet Earth, Dynamics, Games and Science II, Portugal, which took place between 28 August and 6 September at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon. The goal with the initiative was to address the role of mathematics in the areas of dynamic and strategic decision-making when there are multiple agents involved (Game Theory) and its applications to science. The event welcomed more than 100 speakers and included 25 thematic sessions. The LIAAD team included Alberto Pinto, Renato Soeiro, José Martins, Bruno Oliveira, Ricardo Cruz and Filipe Martins.

The INESC TEC researchers mentioned in this article are associated with the following partner institutions: FCUP and FEP.
