CAL4INO is an EU funded project that proposes to investigate the role of creative learning activities to enhance innovation using as its frame of reference the idea that people work as teams, not lone “geniuses”, to develop meaningful innovations by blending design, technology and business through creative activities, synthesizing diverse perspectives, experiences and skills.
The two-day programme aims at bringing together academics, practitioners and policy makers to discuss the role of creative learning activities in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. The programme will include: Keynote Speakers, Roundtable Discussions, Themed Sessions with Academic and Practitioner Presentations and Networking Events.
The purpose for the 2nd CAL4INO Conference is to provide a forum for discussing innovative approaches to lifelong learning that deliver measureable, high impact results for executives,
professionals and entrepreneurs.
Submissions from academic, research, consulting, industry, intermediary and policy organizations are strongly encouraged and should focus on the following themes:
- Creativity in innovation and entrepreneurship education
- Need for and impact of creativity competences on innovation and entrepreneurship
- Measuring outcomes of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship education
- Case studies in creativity education for innovation and entrepreneurship
- Best practices in creativity education for innovation and entrepreneurship
- Education and economic policies for innovation and entrepreneurship
- Creativity learning in industry
- Creative teams in innovation and entrepreneurship
- Role of university ecosystems in fostering creativity and innovation
Proposals for the organization of Roundtable Discussions on the topics outlined above are also welcome.

João Claro, manager of UITT/INESC TEC, is the Chair of the Conference, and Ana Barros (UESP/INESC TEC), José C. Rodrigues and Catarina Maia (UITT/INESC TEC) are part of the Organizing Committee. Ana Barros also integrates the Scientific Committee.

19 April 2013: Abstract Submission for oral or poster presentations
19 April 2013: Proposal Submission for Roundtable Discussions
26 April 2013: Acceptance Notification
30 September 2013: Final Paper Submission (only required for participants willing to submit their work to one of the journals associated with the Conference)
