5.3M€ - THE GREATEST PORTUGUESE INVESTMENT IN A TECHNOLOGICAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE BLUE ECONOMY
5,3M€ is the value of the greatest investment in a technological infrastructure, pioneer at European level, to develop technologies for the sea environment. It is called “TEC4sea” and is a unique platform targeted at research, development, test and validation of technologies that will leverage the sea economy.
Portuguese researchers discover substructures in the brain that are relevant for surgical procedures
A team led by Portuguese researchers discovered brain substructures with different connectivity profiles which affect the motor and non-motor aspects of the human body. These findings can help medical teams to improve the targets of their Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) procedures in patients with dystonia and Parkinson’s disease. The results have just been published in one of the most prestigious journals in the field of Neuroscience, Neuroimage.

Doctoral thesis developed at INESC TEC awarded in Brazil
Vinicius Souza of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, University of São Paulo (ICMC-USP), has received the "Best PhD Thesis" award for work conducted at INESC TEC. He was awarded as part of a competition which awards the best theses and dissertations in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science (CTDIAC).
